Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill: Seat Doug Jones Immediately

Alabamians made their voices heard at the ballot box, and they want Doug Jones representing them in the U.S. Senate. Luther Strange was appointed, not elected, and his own party rejected him in a primary – so Doug Jones should take office immediately.

When Jason Kander was Secretary of State of Missouri, he worked with Speaker John Boehner in 2013 to get a Republican who was elected in a special election seated less than 18 hours after polls closed. Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill must listen to the will of Alabamians and do the same thing.
